Winter Sports Recap at Oak Knoll – Cece Adragna, Zoey Dalvi, & Mia Ricciardelli ’29

The Royals have been on a recent upswing in the 2025-2026 winter sports season across all of their teams!

Track

Winter Track competed against some of the strongest teams in the country. Many of the athletes achieved personal bests in their events. They placed 2nd at the Non-Public A State Group Relays and 5th at the Wayne Valentine Invitational. They also went to the NJ Conference Clash and Union County Championships, earning county titles, and  then went to the Ocean Breeze Invitational and the Millrose Games against national competition. 

Hockey

 Hockey had a competitive season that consisted of many demanding matchups and impressive wins including those over Trinity Hall, Chatham, and Hoboken. The team also competed in impressive games against Westfield and Madison. While they took on a challenging schedule against top programs in the area, these Royals displayed much improvement in comparison to their 2025-26 season!

JV Basketball had a strong season, with wins over competitive teams including Elizabeth, Summit, Governor Livingston, and Scotch Plains. The team displayed teamwork and improvement consistently throughout the season!

Varsity Basketball has had a great season, with wins over Linden, Governor Livingston, and Scotch Plains. The team had several hard-fought games and continued to improve throughout the season. Their season ended in the 2nd round of the state tournament against the #1 team in the state, Morris Catholic. With many challenging conference matchups along the way, the Royals displayed exemplary grit throughout the season. 

Swim

The Swim team took on many competitive matchups throughout their exceptional conference season. Their year ended after competing in the Prep Championships and the Union County Championships, where many swimmers set impressive new personal records! 

Fencing

Fencing’s formidable season consisted of constant improvement while competing in many close matches- as well as wins against West Orange, St. Benedict’s, Moorestown, and MKA! Congratulations to all winter sport athletes and goodluck to all those still competing!

Do you have old sports equipment, cleats, and other athletic gear you’ve outgrown that you’d like to donate? The Athletic Council will be sponsoring a drive to recycle equipment so members of our community and outside of our community can have access to great sports gear.
