As our time with Untucked comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on our time working for the publication.
I first joined Untucked in seventh grade because I always loved writing in English classes and was captivated by current events and journalism. I would frequently check the headlines for new stories, eagerly refreshing the page, especially when I discovered the library granted us access to The New York Times. Untucked allowed me to transform my interest into an activity where I and others could write articles on events, both inside and outside the Oak Knoll community, that mattered to us. It has been such a meaningful experience to contribute to a group that reflects the interests and values of the students and to be a part of the tradition of Oak Knoll.

Growing up, I loved creative writing and reading, so Untucked was a natural choice when I was a new seventh grader deciding what clubs to join at Oak Knoll. Throughout these last six years, Untucked has brought so much joy, community, and creativity to our lives. We have had a great year, publishing articles about local news events, seasonal traditions, school events, pop culture, and more. We would like to thank our writers and section editors for their hard work. We would also like to thank Mrs. Hodgin and Mrs. Johnston for their dedication to making sure students’ voices are heard. Thank you for a great year!

We look forward to seeing Untucked’s future success!
