Don’t know what to watch on Netflix? Well, you’ve come to the right place! The popular streaming service has just released its “Top 10” rankings of various movies and television shows. There is a large variety of genres, so you are bound to enjoy at least one of them! Below are a few brief synopsis of ranked films and TV shows that I have previously watched. In addition to a thoughtful discussion of each, I will be offering some of my own insight, as well!
Coming in at the top spot is a documentary crime series called Crime Scene. The series is based on the true story of the disappearance of Elisa Lam, a case that has mystified true-crime fanatics ever since 2013. It is rated TV-MA. It may be hard to follow at some points (at least, it was for me!), but all of you true crime devotees will love it.
Just below on this list is a movie that every teenage girl has most likely seen by now: To All the Boys: Always and Forever. This teen romantic comedy film is the third and final installment of the To All the Boys trilogy series. In this movie, the main character, Lara Jean (Lana Condor), is in her senior year of high school as she returns from a family trip to Korea and considers her college plans with or without her love interest Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo). It is rated TV-14. If classic rom-coms are your ideal type of movie, or if you like to cry uncontrollably for hours after the movie’s over like me, then this one’s for you!
At the #3 spot is a show that many of you have probably seen an episode of at one point or another in your childhood. iCarly made its way back onto Netflix after it aired many years ago on the channel TeenNickelodeon. The show takes place in Seattle, Washington, and it is centered around teenager Carly Shay’s web-show that becomes an international sensation. It is rated TV-G so it is appropriate for young audiences. If you want a quick laugh or some comedic relief, I definitely recommend watching an episode!
The last item on the list I will be talking about is a thriller movie ranked #4 on the list; Red Dot. This movie explores a couple’s trip to Northern Sweden, in an attempt to rekindle their slightly dysfunctional relationship. The trip starts off fairly innocent, until, on the first night of the camping retreat, they see a red dot on their tent. They realize they are being targeted and will have to survive the winter in the middle of the forest. After this strange occurrence, the movie details a series of strange and unsettling events. The movie is rated TV-MA. Overall, it will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.
Whatever genre you’re into, Netflix is bound to have your next favorite show or movie on their top 10 list!
