As a Holy Child school, we pride ourselves on making faith a major part of our academic experience. With theology classes and school-wide masses, we see how our beliefs are exercised almost daily. Another prominent way Oak Knoll tries to fulfill this principle is by incorporating a weekly mass on Wednesdays, run by campus ministry at 7:45. Led by Father Larry, the masses are a way to come together as a community to briefly reflect and pray for all of our intentions. While the Wednesday morning masses welcome all who are interested in attending, recently, a few sports teams including, the track team, will attend the masses together. It is never a bad idea to have more participation in the masses but especially, being able to come together as a team helps the bond grow between players. As quoted in the weekly notes by Ms. Mcgroarty, Wednesday morning mass is, “A unique opportunity for spiritual growth, personal reflection, and community bonding.” This commitment will also reinforce what it means to be an Oak Knoll student.
