Catherine Luzzi ’26

The coronavirus has changed the way we live. From being in crowded arenas to social distancing in masks, the world is forever different. As of February 18, there have been over 110 million cases worldwide, and 2.4 million deaths. There are threats of new variants, such as those from South Africa and the U.K, but the three approved Coronavirus vaccines––Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson––have given people hope, and the vaccine rollout has administered 56 million doses in the United States.

From daily temperature checks, to weekly testing, to shutting down when necessary, Oak Knoll has made sure all students and faculty are out of harm’s way. In-person learning is something many schools have not been able to do, but Oak Knoll has accomplished it in a safe and healthy way.

With a family behind every death, the world is in mourning. But it’s also been brought together. We’ve seen unity behind the human race, which gives many hope for the future. We pray for all of those we have lost.
