Social anxiety plays a prominent role in the lives of many youth in our society. In our world today, it’s easy to get warped in the endless cycle of self-doubt and insecurity. Pictured above is a glimpse inside the mind of someone who is panic-stricken over the seemingly simple task of class attendance. The human mind has the ability to trick you into thinking you are unqualified and unimportant to everyone around you. Toward the end of this comic, the character is seen affirming herself, and in turn, becoming more confident in her abilities, saying the phrase, “I can do this.” This reinforces the fact that social anxiety is surmountable – we just need to practice self- love.
