OKS Expands Campus Property

Aria Alva ’22

Earlier this year, Oak Knoll bought a house next to Mulcahy Hall on Prospect Street. According to Mrs. Landis, this house actually holds a significant history related to Oak Knoll. Information concerning this history and how the administration will incorporate the new building into the rest of our campus is yet to come. However, many members of our community have hopes for how the new purchase will be utilized. Our student body president, Lizzie Athaide ’21, shared a few of her ideas for the new land which included more parking, a replacement for Peacock and Cafe––additions to our campus this year due to the pandemic–– or a socially distanced senior center. Athaide, a student-athlete who runs for Oak Knoll, also suggested that the land be used to build a track for cross country. Other student-athletes, including Victoria Cicchino’22, echoed this sentiment in regards to using the land for their respective sports teams. Although these students have many different ideas, most juniors and seniors hold the same belief that the administration will most likely use the new space for classrooms or office spaces for teachers. More information is to follow regarding updates on the OKS campus’s newest addition!
