At Oak Knoll, there are countless opportunities to get involved in the service and faith options available to the community. Rosary club, Wednesday Morning masses, and Bridges runs are just a few of the ways Oak Knoll stays in touch with our faith promise as a school community.
Oak Knoll’s Rosary club is a tremendous way to get involved in the robust faith life on campus. The club presents students with an opportunity to start their busy days with a moment of reflection and quiet prayer. Students agree that the Rosary community is refreshing and supportive, as it welcomes anyone and everyone. The club will sometimes pray the Rosary in both English and Spanish, in an effort to offer more variety to members. They meet on a monthly basis, so look out for the email reminders and announcements.
The Wednesday Morning Masses have been an Oak Knoll tradition for many years, and they are still a very prominent presence in the community. These services, held every Wednesday at 7:45am, enable students to set thorough intentions for their day, and offer an opportunity to engage in an established Catholic tradition with one’s peers. The masses are led by a variety of local priests, along with Oak Knoll’s senior Eucharistic Ministers, who distribute communion to attendees. These masses are a wonderful component of the faith life opportunities at Oak Knoll, and anyone is welcome to join.
Service is a main pillar of faith life at Oak Knoll, and our Bridges runs are a perfect example of our devotion to giving back. Bridges is an organization that is committed to fighting homelessness in New Jersey and the surrounding areas. Oak Knoll contributes to the cause by packing lunches with student volunteers, along with traveling to Newark to distribute lunches, clothes, and other necessities to those in need. This is one of the most meaningful faith and service opportunities offered here at Oak Knoll, so look out for Mrs. Van Kalsbeck’s emails and sign up to help fight homelessness in our community.
